Good people - bad people

No fighting

Yoshigasaki Sensei in Denmark 2017

This is again this brain-washing of the United States that attack is bad and defence is good and defence always wins. And that is completely nonsense. OK.
And also, that good people always win against bad people. That is complete nonsense.
I assure you that you are good people, so you shouldn't fight because if you fight, good people fight against bad people almost all the time bad people will win.
If you don't believe this, try. (laughter)

Bad people will win. That's normal.
Because good people naturally don't want to hurt other people.
And good people is always afraid of the consequence, so, maybe if I win now tomorrow bad people may attack my children my wife etc.
That is why good people doesn't want to really fight whereas bad people who already killed many people ... I already killed three people, doesn't matter if I kill one more.
So bad people don't hesitate to attack you.
So consequently, bad people will win. That's evident.
That is why good people should not fight but must find some way so that they can live without fighting.
That's technique of Aikido. That is important, you know.
But then. Still majority of the world is good people, why? Because ...
What happens is that when bad people and good people fight, bad people win, but then the children of bad people prefer to live with good people. That is why bad people are not so nice.
So, the children of bad people prefer to live with good people. So, after bad people die, the children become in a way good people. If these children have friends with good people but parents don't want to attack the friends of their children. So, this way the world is still the majority of good people.
So, good people should not fight but create a nice society where the children of bad people prefer to come to good people.

Proactive action

In light of current events in the Middle East, where the USA – together with Israel – has attacked Iran, Yoshigasaki's words may cause astonishment. However, his statements are related to a specific jo technique.

The initial situation: Uke threatens Nage with the jo, intending to attack her with tsuki. Nage should enter Uke's area early, grasp the jo with both hands and thus prevent the attack.
There is a nice exercise for this in which Uke pulls back the jo to strike again and Nage changes sides in order to continue controlling the jo.
