Plot

The film tells the story three times, each time from a different point of view.
1. From the mother Saori's point of view:
Saori Mugino is a single mother, her son Minato is in fifth grade. He starts exhibiting strange behavior, cutting his hair shorter and coming home with only one shoe. One night Minato doesn't come home at all, and after calling around, the mother finds him in an abandoned train tunnel. Saori suspects that her son's teacher, Mr. Hori, is mistreating him and confronts the school about it. She is treated dismissively by the school. When she speaks directly to Hori, he suggests that Minato is bullying another student named Yori. Saori visits Yori at home. He seems to like Minato and care about him. Hori later comes to Saori and Minato during a storm, but Saori finds that Minato has disappeared. They look for him at the train tunnel, where there has been a landslide.
2. After 42 minutes the story starts again from the point of view of the teacher Hori.
3. After another 34 minutes the story starts again from the point of view of the student Minato.
In these three stories the film shows how different the view of events can be. It deals with current topics in the relationships between school/teachers and parents, between students and between individuals and society.
