SHIN SHIN TOITSU AIKIDO
Ki Aikido ist also kein japanischer Name.
Also, was stimmt nicht mit diesem Shin Shin Toitsu?
Was entspricht der Realität?
Also, warum sollten wir uns davon beeinflussen lassen?
All dieses Psychologische. Das kommt von hier. Und dann bedeutet ATAMA (auf 頭 zeigend) CHI (知). CHI bedeutet intellektuelles Wissen.
Warum hier (Bauch schneiden)?
Man beginnt also Namen zu verwenden.
Warum hört man?

SHIN SHIN TOITSU AIKIDO
When Tohei Sensei went out of Aikikai he made a personal promise - not a legal promise - that he is not going to use AIKIDO. So he invented SHIN SHIN TOITSU AIKIDO. And then this Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido is a bit too long for foreigners. So, the Americans invented KI AIKIDO. So, Ki Aikido is not a Japanese name. If you say Ki Aikido in Japan, Ki Aikido ? ... nobody understands. And then. It is very ugly (writing 氣合氣道). It is very ugly. As a Japanese I can't accept this.
01:00
This (Ki Aikido) is ok, but this (written with Kanji) is not ok. So I don't like the name Ki Aikido. A very ugly name.
And then this Shin Shin Toitsu Tohei Sensei copied from Nakamura Tempu and Nakamura Tempu had it from Yoga. So, there is still something wich is not very, quite ok. When you borrow name from other people, always something is wrong.
So now, what is wrong with this Shin Shin Toitsu?
02:00
There are basically two things. This is basically (writing) mind & body unification or ... now first unification or coordination?
Prima problema. Unificazione o coordinazione, (ride)? Perché non è uguale. Quindi, là c'è già un problema. Una ... questo. (Disegna) mente - corpo. Allora unificazione. Ma è giusto questo? È solo immaginazione, è solo teoria. Quindi coordinazione o unificazione?
E poi dopo c'è ancora un'altro problema. Coordinare mente corpo va bene.
03:00
Allora. Coordinare (scrive) mente e corpo. Facile.
Ma unificare c'è un'altro problema. Unificare mente e corpo oppure unificare mente e unificare corpo?
Ok. So, do you unify mind and body, mind and body, or do you unify mind and do you unify body? Do you unify body by unifying your mind? Or do you unify mind and body? Ok. There are many, in a way, interpretations possible. And you can't say one is right and one is wrong. Which corresponds to reality? Ok.
04:00
Shin è qui (indicando il cuore). Quindi cuore. Ora, perché heart è diventato mind? Why heart has become mind? Perché cuore è diventato mente? Perché è difficile dire: coordinare cuore e corpo. Strano.
It is difficult to say "unify heart and body" (laughing). Strange.
... E poi, Maestro Tohei non insegna più.
05:00
Quindi, perché noi dobbiamo mantenere questo?
This is ok. It was just a personal promise between Tohei Sensei and Ueshiba Kisshomaru. Ueshiba Kisshomaru (1921-1999) is already dead. And Tohei Sensei ... is not teaching anymore. So, why should we be influenced by that? Understand. So, why don't just say AIKIDO?
Per me è semplice, AIKIDO basta. Quindi, meglio lasciar perdere. Troppo problema.
Too much theoretical problem. So, but then, there is something which is important here. That means for the Japanese people this (drawing a body without legs and arms) is important and they put it into three parts. This is HARA (腹).
06:00
And this is KOKORO (心) and this is ATAMA (頭). Quindi HARA for Japanese people, this is for action (行, GYŌ).
E quindi ...
06:00
So, this medical reason that means, when they, if the intestines are functioning, your action is ok. So, if you are afraid, you have stomach ache. If you operate in the stomach or intestines, you become very cold and very weak. If you are this is good then you are warm and very strong. So, in a way, this is some real scientific reason behind.
E poi, KOKORO, cuore, heart. Heart was basically this (writing 情) JŌ, NASAKE, sentiment, amore, odio. All this psychological part. This comes from here. And then ATAMA means CHI (知). This means intellectual knowing. And KAN (感) is non-intellectual knowing. So KAN is like instinct or intuition. So, non-intellectual knowing, KAN.
08:00
And CHI is intellectual knowing. So there is KANCHI. KANCHI (感知) means just total knowing, intellectual and intuitively. And this is also here. So, now, that is why, when you do something, you do with HARA and KOKORO. That means you do things with your total feeling. That is when you do calligraphy, HARA and KOKORO. You do a good action with complete engagement, sentimental and mental. That was KOKORO.
So, now, in Japan they had this idea that this must be always together. When you do something you must have all your feelings and sentiment, love and everything.
09:00
Bisogno mettere tutto sentimento, sensazione, amore, odio questo ... E questo è giusto, veramente, no, è normale. Capisce, no? Capisci, no? Capisce, no? E tutto questo è il significato.
10:00
The basic of language is name.
So, something inside me, which creates conflict with the world, is "I", "ego". When there is no conflict between inside and outside, than "io", "I" doesn't exist. Understand. Something exists because there is a conflict. If there is no conflict, nothing exists. That means here: You don't feel air now. But then (blowing against the open palm) now you feel air. Why do you feel air, because there is a collision, conflict. If there is no collision, there is nothing, you don't feel.
13:00
Esistere vuole dire collisione. Capisce, no? Quindi ... Si sente, no? Capisce, no? Per questo "io" crea problema.
What is "I". "I" is a conflict between inside and outside. And this conflict is the problem. That is why "I" creates problem. Ego creates problem.
14:00
So we have to do something about it. Ok? But then, what is it, creating conflict? It is the name connected with the way of looking at the world, which is blocked, which is static. That creates conflict.
