Plot

Kasajiro is a police officer in Edo. His father gave him the name Kasajiro because he is supposed to be the protection and umbrella (kasa) of the citizens. In the previous episode he married Shinko. They sometimes argue strongly.
Several murders occur among the top six timber traders in Edo who have formed a cartel. Kasajiro and Shinko solve the case. In the end, Shinko is promoted to police officer and receives a jutte. This doesn't please her husband at all and there are now problems in the domestic hierarchy.
